Smoking Cessation for Older Adults: It's not too late!
November 20 is Great American Smokeout

You may be surprised to hear that older smokers are usually more successful at quitting smoking than younger smokers. This is especially true if they already have health problems, particularly those associated with smoking. Studies suggest that elderly persons who ask their doctors about help for smoking cessation are more likely to get that help and may be more likely to be successful quitters. At your next medical visit don't forget to ask what you and your doctor together can do to help you kick the habit.

Gluten-Free Diet
National Celiac Disease Awareness Month
If you have gluten intolerance, or celiac disease, your body is unable to digest gluten. Consuming gluten may result in symptoms such as cramping, bloating, gas, and diarrhea. The only treatment is to eliminate gluten from your diet. Following a gluten-free diet can reverse any intestinal damage and nutrient deficiencies that may have occurred as a result of consuming gluten.

On May 28, 2008, Albert Einstein Healthcare Network ("AEHN") and Jefferson Health System ("JHS") signed a formal separation agreement. On September 30, 2008, the parties completed the separation, and AEHN is no longer a member of JHS. The decision to separate came after careful and thorough reviews by both organizations, which led to the conclusion that both AEHN and JHS could best serve their respective communities by separating and pursuing their strategic goals independently.
